Empowering women in the community for a brighter future

​We recently supported an initiative by the Bavla Mahila Sangathan and ActionAid to support vulnerable and marginalized women in the Ahmedabad district in Gujarat by enhancing their access to dignified income. Through the distribution of sewing machines, we sought to empower the women of Upardal village and support their livelihoods.

Like many other villages in the region, Upardal is plagues with challenges related to poverty, limited economic opportunities, and gender inequality. By focusing on enhancing their access to dignified income, we aimed to uplift the women of the community and empower them to not only be able to meet their basic needs but also develop entrepreneurial skills and become more self-reliant. The donated sewing machines allow them to explore livelihood opportunities and promote economic independence, while also contributing to the local economy.

​In order to ensure that our support goes to those who need it most, it’s important to partner with the right collaborators. We were fortunate enough to partner with Bavla Mahila Sangathan, a local organization dedicated to women’s empowerment, and ActionAid, the international NGO working towards social justice and poverty eradication. Of course, any recognizable change requires ongoing support and engagement, and we remain dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities we engage with. Leveraging strategic partnerships such as these allows us to strive to be a catalyst for social change anad contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society.
