Development through expression

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing our employees with opportunities to develop and grow, we recently organized a Speech Competition at our factory. 16 enthusiastic participants not only showcased their ability to present an idea but also dealt with the criticality of reporting “near misses” in the workplace. 

​The participants were judged on the basis of their ability to articulate and communicate their understanding of the topic, “Near Miss Awareness & Reporting”. What unfolded was a series of insightful and thought-provoking points of view on the significance of reporting near misses. Each participant spoke from a unique perspective, sharing their experiences, anecdotes, and real-world examples to drive home the importance of this crucial safety practice

The competition was designed to assess the participants’ knowledge as well as their ability to effectively convey the importance of the topic to their peers. Our esteemed panel of judges - selected from the management team - reviewed the participants’ on the parameters of clarity, relevance, persuasiveness, and overall presentation skills. The judges’ wealth of experience ensured that the competition maintained a high standard of quality and objectivity, offering valuable feedback to each participant. 

At the end, five outstanding participants were recognized for their articulation and insight, and took home the coveted prizes. The prizes not only recognized the winners' exemplary efforts but also served as tokens of appreciation, further motivating employees to actively participate in initiatives aimed at promoting workplace safety.

The speech competition served as a powerful platform to not only educate but also inspire our employees to prioritize near miss reporting. The enthusiastic participation, expert evaluation, and valuable insights shared during the competition underscored the commitment of our employees to creating a safer and more vigilant workplace.
