Safety is the cornerstone of KOKO’s values. The organisation is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment to all employees and service providers operating at the facility. KOKO Manufacturing’s track record of zero major incidents since inception speaks to its commitment to safety and risk prevention. 

Safety is not only practised but also actively promoted by the organisation. While PPEs and safety audits are standard working activities, KOKO also invests significantly in building the right mindset through extensive behaviour-based training, safety talks, focused audits and hazards & risk prevention programs. Each incident is dealt with due diligence, and a regularly-updated safety performance tracker is used to assess safety levels and opportunities for improvement.

Scientific thinking is key

​Scientific thinking is at the heart of how KOKO Manufacturing operates. At all levels, the team is encouraged to explore details, challenge assumptions, and ask critical questions. This has helped build an effective and systematic problem-solving culture in the workplace. It also forms the bedrock for a better understanding of what data is needed to make informed decisions.

KOKO Manufacturing uses industry best practices to help ensure quality and rigour across processes, such as:

Statistical Process Controls (SPC), used to diligently monitor processes and to both identify and resolve any issues highlighted

The 7QC tools (fishbone diagrams, check sheets, control charts, histograms, Pareto charts, scatter plots and stratification) help build a better strategic quality management plan based on structured data and insights

The DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) framework is leveraged regularly to drive continuous improvement across processes​
