KOKO Manufacturing produces KOKO’s unique bioethanol cookers that provide a clean, safe and affordable alternative to dirty fuel-based stoves
Custom made to the highest quality
KOKO’s cookers and canisters are both built in-house and undergo rigorous testing to ensure that the highest quality standards are met before delivering them to the market. The production process was designed to enable the lowest possible manufacturing cycle times, allowing KOKO Manufacturing to rapidly scale to support the exponential growth in demand observed in our international markets.
KOKO's journey
KOKO Networks develops innovations that transforms life in the world’s fastest-growing cities. Our proven solution was launched in 2017 and enabled clean sustainable bioethanol cooking fuel to replace deforestation-based charcoal at scale. We manufacture, distribute and retail a high-quality two-burner cooker that runs safely and efficiently on bioethanol fuel, and now serves over a million households across 8 major urban centers in Kenya.
In 2017, we piloted our 5th version of the cooker in Nairobi with just 1,000 units. Our patented model proved successful, leading to the current (6th) version of our cooker. This current version of the cooker was redesigned from the ground-up so that it would be better suited for mass-production, and our factory officially started operations in 2019.

Global footprint with local focus
KOKO currently operates in East Africa, with offices located in India, Kenya, and the UK. Today, KOKO’s bioethanol cookers are used by nearly 1 million households across 8 cities in Kenya. As the organisation looks to expand, both within Kenya and in new countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, KOKO Manufacturing remains committed to driving efficiencies that will propel KOKO’s growth
