Celebrating our people on International Women's Day

This year's International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8th provided a fantastic opportunity for our office to come together and celebrate the achievements of our incredible female staff.  The theme for IWD 2024, #InspireInclusion, resonated throughout the day's events, which focused on acknowledging diversity, fostering a sense of belonging, and empowering all colleagues.

​The day kicked off with a motivational video that highlighted the value of women's empowerment and showcased the diverse roles and accomplishments of women.  This visual celebration highlighted the positive impact women have had in all areas.

Following the video, we enjoyed some lighthearted games to encourage collaboration and communication. These games fostered a sense of camaraderie and provided a platform for colleagues from different departments to connect and learn from each other's perspectives.

​The heart of the celebration featured a panel discussion where several of our female colleagues shared their personal and professional experiences. These insightful discussions provided a platform for open dialogue about the challenges and triumphs women face. We also engaged with the community that we had donated sewing machines to and got to hear first-hand how the machines have made an impact on their lives and empowered them financially. Hearing diverse stories from colleagues across various backgrounds fostered empathy and understanding within the team.

​Through this event, KOKO aimed to focus on diversity and inclusion, fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation for the unique strengths and contributions each colleague brings to the table.  The day's events served as a reminder of the importance of an inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive.

Moving forward, we are committed to carrying the spirit of IWD throughout the year. By fostering a culture of open communication, actively dismantling unconscious bias, and celebrating diversity, we can create a thriving and inclusive workplace for everyone.
